The Lakewood Link Recreation Center is home to a 5,000 sq. ft. gymnastics center that features a trampoline, balance beams, parallel bars and other equipment. Classes and teams are currently being offered.

Rock Climbing

The climbing wall at the Lakewood Link Recreation Center offers 2,000 sq. ft. of bouldering, lead and top-rope climbing. Classes and open climb are being offered with pre-registration.

Rock Climbing 

A use fee or climbing pass is required. 

 

Sports Leagues

CARA Sports

MSSP/Jeffco League

The Jeffco League - previously known as the Middle School Sports Program (MSSP) - is a co-ed, recreational league for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students at Alameda, Creighton, Carmody and Dunstan middle schools.

Participants are taught the basic rules of the game along with sportsmanship. Games and practices are held on Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday. Practices are held after school at the school where the participant attends. Transportation is provided to and from away games.

Sports: Unified

Unified Sports combines athletes with and without disabilities on teams that compete against other Unified Sports teams. This pioneer program provides sporting competition and team opportunities for athletes seeking new and different challenges.

Unified Sports

Teen Adventure

A group of teens on horseback. Lakewood Recreation's summer Teen Adventure program is a full-day, weekday camp for ages 12-15 which takes them to some of Lakewood and the Metro Area’s top attractions. Participants gain skills in teamwork, leadership and self-confidence while enjoying a summer full of memories, friendships and adventure.

Field trips can include: Water World, Bear Creek Lake Park, laser tag, rafting, hiking, swimming and much more.

Adventure Programming

Cost

Cost is $250/week Lakewood residents, $275/week nonresidents.

Financial assistance is available for Lakewood residents through the Lakewood Possibilities Fund.

 

Therapeutic Recreation 

The City of Lakewood's Therapeutic Recreation program offers recreational opportunities for individuals of all abilities, including dances, community outings, overnight trips, a summer day-camp called Camp Paha, and much more.
