Social Emotional Learning
Social Emotional Learning at Carmody Middle
Social emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children gain and apply the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to deal effectively with daily tasks and challenges.
Schoolwide SEL Supports
At Carmody, we will be using the Random Acts of Kindness curriculum. Head to the Random Acts of Kindness website to see the lessons and standards your students will cover.
Carmody Middle School also uses the following programs and practices schoolwide to support SEL:
- Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS)
- Restorative practices
- Culture and climate
- SEL curriculum
- Zones of regulation
Additional Supports
Throughout the year, we will provide groups as well as programs to support students on a tier two level.
Our determinations of tier two and tier three supports will be made by triangulated data review that encompasses SSIS-SEL Screener data, MAP scores, CMAS scores, and more!
Mental Health Supports
Visit the Mental Health Supports page for resources that support student and family mental health.
